About Spectacled Caiman
There are five species of caiman, the spectacled caiman is the most common of them. They are a smaller species of crocodile. They dwell in lakes, swamps and rivers in Central and South America. They got their name from the ridges around their eyes which look like glasses. The Spectacled Caiman is able to survive dry periods and droughts by burrowing into the mud to keep from drying out. Otherwise, they like to bask in the sun near the edge of rivers, lakes and other water holes.
