Southern Right Whale
About Southern Right Whale
These whales got their name because they swim slowly and when they die they float. Because these whales swim slowly, it makes them the easiest or the “right” whales to hunt, according to fishermen.
There are two species of Right whales. One is found in the Northern Hemisphere and the other in the Southern Hemisphere. Both Right whale species have blunt heads with enormous rows of baleen teeth that they use to feed on plankton. They give birth every three or four years.
