Six-Lined Racerunner

About Six-Lined Racerunner

Racerunners are very fast lizards. They can reach speeds of up to 20 mph (30km/h). They use their speed to keep them out of danger. They live in sand dunes and other open places. Racerunners belong to a family of lizards called whiptails, because they have very long tails. Some species of Racerunners are female and can breed without a mate. This makes them very interesting subjects for scientists.
