About Long-Finned Pilot Whale

Pilot whales got their names because they swim in front of ships as if they were guiding them. They have curved flippers, bulbous heads, and a body which is mostly black. These animals live in pods of up to 40 animals. They hunt at night and eat fish and squid. Like other members of the dolphin family, they pilot whale uses sound to find its way.
