About Kob

Kobs are grazing antelope that live near water sources. This antelope, like many antelope species, jumps high into the air when they are threatened. This behavior is known as stotting and is believed to show predators that they are fast animals that would be too hard to pursue because of their speed. Kobs are a close relative of waterbucks. The male kobs have horns that lean back on their heads.
