About Hartebeest

One hundred years ago, the hartebeest was the most widespread antelope in Africa, ranging from southern Africa all the way north to Egypt and Morocco. Today, they are mainly found in southern Africa.

The hartebeest is a medium size antelope that lives in herds in open grasslands. Both males and females have curved horns with pointy tips. The hartebeest can survive dry weather by digging up root and eating fruit.
