Garden Snail

About Garden Snail

All over Europe and in places where this snail was accidentally introduced it has become a huge pest. After it rains or at night it moves its way through soft-stemmed plants. During dry weather, the garden snail will shut itself in its shell and seal off the opening with a layer of dried mucus. Like most snails and slugs, this snail has male and female reproductive organs, so any two snails can mate. They lay a batch of eggs that are left to develop in the soil.
