About Dingy Skipper

The Dingy Skipper is found in the palearctic region which includes Europe eastward throughout temperate Asia. Its habitat is lowlands and its time of flight is usually daytime. As a caterpiller, the Dingy Skipper is green with a black head and a black stripe down its back. As a butterfly, it is brown in color with small white spots along the edges of both forewings and hindwings. There is also a light colored pattern on the top of the forewings. On the underside of the wings the color is a lighter, more pale brown with the same white spots along the wing edges. The Dingy Skipper feeds on plants of the pea family.
