Clam Worm

About Clam Worm

These worms live in seacoast mud. They wiggle around with the help of leg-like flaps, as they search for shrimp and other small animals to eat. Clam worms have powerful jaws, and large clam worms can bite through human skin. These animals are an important source of food for birds which have long beaks adapted for probing the mud or sand for their food.
