By-the-Wind Sailor

About By-the-Wind Sailor

The By-the-Wind Sailor is blown along in the ocean breezes by it single upright sail. It also has short tentacles and a flat air filled float. These animals feed on small sea creatures. They drift in swarms that can be over 62 miles (100km) wide. They are sometimes blown ashore in the tropics, where millions can be seen on a single beach.
