About Bactrian Camel
The Bactrian Camel is brown and has two humps. It lives in the desert areas of Central Asia, where winter temperatures fall far below freezing. To survive the cold weather, it grows and extra-thick coat in the fall and sheds it the following spring. Today, most bactrian camels are domestic. Only a few hundred still remain in the wild, mostly in Mongolia and parts of China. These camels are easy to ride because the space between the two humps on their back provides a comfortable seat.
